W. A. Mozart | Sinfonie n. 40 KV 550 - Allegro molto (1788)

The summer of 1788 was a time of incredible creative flair for Mozart. In just 45 days between late June and early august he who was able to compose his last three symphonies - n. 39, n. 40 and n. 41 – each one an absolute masterpiece of the symphony form and altogether representing one of the highest levels of all-time music composition. The symphony n. 40 in G minor is the most famous among the three, thanks the powerful, dark emotional palette between agitation and serenity which is created by the main theme, whose few notes and unforgettable rhythmic signature are repeated in harmonic and melodic variations by winds and strings in an ostinato leitmotiv that spans throughout the whole composition.
